Point of View::: Holidays

stansadventures blog
Holidays have come and gone and this year is no different. I do have one question though every year the stores seem to put up holiday things earlier and earlier each year. It bothers me because it seems to rush things along faster than ever. I myself won't shop that early mainly sometimes I do not have the money or just do not feel like doing it. I can remember when things was put up in the same month of a holiday and after the holiday was the sales. But now days things are put up two months prior to the upcoming holidays. With this economy things seem to be fair and are up but not to much. With high unemployment things are not that good. I just started my new job recently and I did get a check in time for the holidays but that was ok though. My question is Do you think that retailers rush holiday sales? Let me know..

Adventure Week This Has Been

stansadventures blog
What a week this has been for me. This week has been a great week and a wild one at that. Well, Tuesday this week my electric was turned off by mistake and I had no electric for nearly 6 hours. I called the electric company 5 times and around 8 pm that night they showed up and had it turned back on. Then, I had an issue at work that had to be taken care of. Then I had to stay over at work everyday this week which is ok but tell me earlier than an hour before I am due to clock out. Anyhow, I have learned alot this week that everyday that passes by can be an adventure.

Point of View;;;Housing foreclosures and sales

stansadventures blog
The housing market today announced that housing foreclosures are up again in this country. After all that this country is going through they are still building houses only this time they are not making them as fast as they did a few years ago. And to top it all off the banks are still not lending out like they use to. What since does all of this make? The question of the week is this. Should they still build houses with an economy still at a very slow pace of recovery? Let me know...

New Beginning Part 4

New Beginning:
After I got the furniture from a friend that lives down the street  from me I now felt a little more to getting what I needed. My biggest challenge yet was to come. That big challenge was transportation which means I needed a car. Now after getting a job I had to save up for my car and this was going to take time and time is what I had a lot of. I have to use the public transportation for now until I get enough money saved up but in the long run I will have it for sure. I am working as hard as I can to get this money saved up for the car. Now, when I get this car I have to have everything for it like insurance, tags, and plates. More money for that and what ever that will cost. Anyhow, I have my mind set on this and to get this. No matter how long it will take because in the long run it will be worth it.

The Job Seeker

The Job Seeker:
In today's job market finding a job is a full time job itself. The economy is still slowly and I mean slowly coming around but it has been said that next year is going to be another slow year. Jobs are coming around in some areas but not as fast as you would think. The United States economy is still sluggish and the new Congress is getting ready to come back and money is still tight on lending. Now, finding a job is going to be hard next year. Congress is ready to get things going and the President is ready to get things done himself. Some people have said that the President has his hands full. No doubt in my mind he has a lot to fill and a short time in doing it. The next election for President is only two years away and if the right person comes around and runs for President they just might get elected and I think President Obama knows that. In order for him to possibly get elected again he has to do something for the people of this country. I say unto the ones looking for a job, don't give up keep looking. Sure it will have its' days when you just want to throw in the towel but don't. I had been looking for just over a year and found one. I know I had to move to another state but I found one. Keep looking because I think things will get better.

Point of View Immigration law

stansadventures blog
I was ready in the paper today about Florida may have a immigration law similar to Arizonas' Law that was just recently pasted. Now I think it is ok to have a law like this because it does put a lot of strain on this economy. Also, it takes jobs away from the local people. But I must also say this that there should be a limit on all of this. If you are legal in this country that's fine. If you are not legal that's bad because that is aalmost like stealing from this country. All I am saying is that if you want to be in this country make it legal. Today's question is. Do you think that Florida should have a law pertaining to immigration and how to control it? Send me your answers and I will publish some of them here...Thanks again

New Beginning Part 3

stansadventures blog
After I found a job I knew I had to get some furniture for the place. That I knew was not going to be easy since I did not know of any place around near me. So, for about six weeks I was sleeping on tile floor waking up with a sore body all over and looking around for the stuff I need. This alone was a job in itself. A friend down the street from me said that he had some furniture I could have but it was not in the best of shape. I said sure I would take it since I had nothing to start with. Also, I have a friend in a neighboring town who loaned me some stuff till I got off my feet. Then I was a little happier than I was before. Anyhow, I still needed one more thing and that was transportation. In the back of my mind I knew this would take some time to accomplish not to mention money for it too. I wanted a car so bad because I haven't had or owned a car in a little more than two years now. In the state of Florida you just about have to have one for sure. Tune in tomorrow for another of my adventures and to read more on this..Thanks

Point of View The New Year

stansadventures blog
The New Year is coming and changes are on the way. With a new congress things are going to change. With jobs so far and few in between what will the President and Congress do? I feel that there will be a change but will it be for the better. So far it has felt like to me like I am in a neutral position. I see that foreclosures are up sales are down. Retailers report a very descent year but not like it has been in the past. Reports for this past holiday will be out soon so will there be a change in that for the good? This country is going through what I have read call The Great Recession. Something like the Great Depression that started in 1929 and lasted for twelve years. Will this recession last that long  I hope not because this country can not handle that at all and the people need jobs to pay bills and such. So here is my question.. Do you think this country can handle another year of this recession? Let me know and I will post your answers here.

New Beginning Part 2
After I moved here in September of 2010 I had a lot of work ahead of me that I knew I had to do. One was to get a job so I could get some furniture for my place. Second I had to get a car also because I would need transportation. I also had to find a college to finish my degree I was doing. I am going to school to be an Interior Design Architect. I did find that before I moved here. Well, the job hunting in itself is a full time job and I started looking right away. In one week I had filled out over 15 applications and I was tired that week but I was not going to give up at all. I made up my mind to do this from the very beginning to find a job and to do this. Anyhow, I was still looking for weeks, to be exact it took me two months before I found one but I did. Tomorrow I will have the third part of this series so tune in and read more of the New Beginning. Thanks......

New Beginning

stansadventures blog
New Beginning Part 1
This section is dedicated to a new beginning for which I have so seeked. I moved here from Indiana to Florida back in September of 2010 with intentions to a new beginning in life. Now, to let you know I knew it would be rough when I arrived here because I had nothing there to begin with. I was unemployed for a year and a half and Indiana's economy was very bad and the state was broke. And at the time no jobs was there. I made up my mind I was not going to let this get to me from the very beginning. So, I packed up what I had and moved to sunny Florida. My first time here since 2006 and it had not changed a bit. My friend Allen came to the airport and picked me up and took me to the hotel where I would be for a couple of weeks and then I moved to the eastern part of the city in a friends condo till I got where I am now. I love this state because it has everything from beaches to a variety of other things and the people are very different too. But , anyhow tune in tomorrow for part 2 of my adventures

Happy New Year!!!!!

Happy New Year to all of my readers. Well, another year has pasted and everybody has gotten a year older. I have a birthday this month...Jan. 13, ????.. you can guess the year....And the world has changed somewhat. The economy has not gotten any better but then again jobs are hard to find in some areas. I hope this coming year 2011 will be better for everyone. I hope that jobs are easier to find for all who do not have one and for those of you who have a job I would suggest to keep it. I know it has its days good or bad but hey you and I have bills that need to be paid right. Hang in there it will get better. So again to all of my readers Have a Happy New Year and a safe one at that may God bless each and everyone of you..

Point of View Should it be legal?

I was reading in the paper this week about  President Obama thinking about making it legal for same sex marriages in this country. He is saying that they should have the same rights as hetrosexuals do. Now, my question is Do you think it should be legal for gays to be able to marry in this country?  Let me know and I will go through the answers and post them next week on my blog.

Point of View

This subject area pertains to my point of view on subjects of interest. It may be of a  political matter or any subject within reason. I will take suggestions and questions pertaining to a subject. I will post a subject for the week and take questions. I will post the question along with the answer from me. If you have any suggestions on a subject drop me a line here on my post.

finally employed

I am finally employed after a year and the job I have has never changed. I went back to work at a restuarant I worked at before. McDs is the place I worked at a year ago. But the catch to this is it is in a different state. See I moved here from Indiana to Florida in September of 2010. I had a hard time at first in finding a job with the economy the way it is. I hated the fact that I knew I would get the job with previous experience and such but I did look and for some time like about two months. Then I gave in and applied and got the job and then I was hired and I will admit I make descent money but hey its a job. I will stay until a better paying job comes along and go from there.
